A recent article titled Reviving the Greek diaspora by Alexis Papachelas in the English edition of the Kathimerini, points the spotlight at some of the many challenges facing Hellenism and the Greek Diaspora - preserving the Greek language in particular.

It is encouraging to see more attention being focused on Diaspora issues, and the article raises many valid points Greek communities face in their endeavors to preserve their identity, heritage, and language. Ellinopoula.com was born from this common endeavor of Greek communities, teachers, and parents worldwide.

That is why, since 2016, we have introduced a new approach to work around longstanding challenges and adopt ways to engage today’s tech-savvy kids for the Greek language to flourish again. Investing in interactive media featuring modern, fun content within the platform and Live Online Classes has resulted in impressive responses from Diaspora kids, teachers, and parents.

As a result, increasingly more kids embrace the Greek language each term and forge deeper connections with Greece. This shift is not limited to the United States – we are witnessing it globally in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and beyond.

Ultimately, it’s up to us all - educators, schools, parents, and Greek communities to leverage these new tools and platforms to make Greek education relevant, enjoyable, practical, and engaging for the younger generation!
