Learning Greek for kids is a journey, one with many rewards and challenges.

Whether kids learn Greek with private Greek classes, at a Greek school, or Greek lessons online, the more they enjoy learning Greek, the more successful their journey will be! That is why we created virtual educational excursions to Greece - and thematic collections inspired by them to boost kids’ progress in learning Greek!

For example, as part of our Live Online Classes, students go on exclusive virtual class excursions to Greek Mountains and Forests, the Acropolis, and Cretan vineyards. It helps them learn about Greek landmarks, history, surrounding landscape and monuments, related mythology, and Greek vocabulary. Parents report it’s been a very inspiring experience for their children, with noticeable results in their motivation to learn Greek; one mother in the US reports her young son began asking questions about how far away from the Acropolis yiayia and pappous’ village in Greece is! She says that as he has never been to Greece, he’s only had a vague idea about the country until he went on the “Trip to the Acropolis” with his Live Online Classes classmates. Since then, he’s developed a keen interest in learning more about his Greek heritage – and as a result, this has boosted his motivation to learn new Greek words!

The “Trip to the Acropolis” in February has been extremely popular with our Live Online Classes students and their parents! So much so, that it inspired us to create a “Trip to the Acropolis” thematic collection with fun puzzles, printables, SpeakUp, color-in exercises, and an immersive animated story of a brother and sister and their wise pappou who visit the Acropolis with their guide, Mr. Pericles.

The animated story is an exciting, colorful excursion for kids to enjoy learning about the Acropolis, Pericles and the Golden Age of Athens, the Parthenon, Acropolis monuments, including the Erechtheion and its Caryatids, and other surrounding landmarks! And kids love the part about how Athens got its name!!!: hint – the story features Poseidon and Athena competing to become the protector of Athens - with wisdom prevailing over strength! What a timeless lesson for kids straight from ancient Greece!!!
